Employment in Wisconsin reached a new record high last month, according to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD). On Thursday, the DWD reported early estimates from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics that show Wisconsin’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 3.0% and the labor force participation rate was 65.5% in July 2024. Wisconsin’s unemployment rate is 1.3 percentage points lower than the national rate, which was 4.3%. The number of people employed increased by 1,300 in July, setting a new record.
