A longtime Agriculture teacher and FFA Advisor has died. 83 year old Jerry Sherwin of Cuba City died on Tuesday-July 9th. Jerry Sherwin was a Platteville native. He began his teaching career at Potosi from 1965 to 1968 before moving to Cuba City Schools from 1969 until his retirement in 1999. Sherwin was inducted June 12th into the Wisconsin FFA Hall of Fame during this year’s State FFA Convention. Sherwin in 1986 coached the Cuba City FFA Land Judging team that won a National Championship in Oklahoma. The following year he personally won the Advisor Division of the National Contest.
The Cuba City FFA and Jerry Sherwin are the only team and advisor to ever win either contest in the 68 year competition. He was an active member of the Cuba City Lions Club and loved to bowl.
