Governor Tony Evers has appointed Cody Kanable as Green County Sheriff. The appointment filled a vacancy created by Sheriff Jeffrey Skatrud’s retirement. Kanable will start in his new role on June 30 and will complete the remainder of the unexpired term which ends in January, 2027. Kanable has 16 years of experience with Green County Sheriff’s Office, starting as a patrol deputy in 2008 and reaching chief deputy earlier this year, where he was responsible for managing personnel, public relations, and collaborating with stakeholders in the community. He is a graduate of UW-Platteville.
