Authorities say an intoxicated man discharged a firearm in a residence and claimed to have planted bombs during a domestic disturbance in southwest Wisconsin. According to the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department, 34 year old Justin Wilbanks of Rewey was arrested at approximately 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Township of Mifflin, on charges of bomb scares, endangering safety-reckless use of a firearm and disorderly conduct-domestic. Sheriff Michael Peterson says that authorities responded to a residence on Welch Street in the Township of Mifflin for a report of an intoxicated man who had discharged a firearm in the residence during a domestic dispute. After Wilbanks was in custody, he told law enforcement officers that he had planted bombs in the residence. The residence was cleared by law enforcement with no bombs located. The Rewey Fire Department and Grant County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene. Wilbanks was booked into the Iowa County Jail, where he remains in custody.
