Authorities in Iowa say an intoxicated Clayton County man assaulted his wife, then flipped over his son’s vehicle with a skid loader. 44 year old Chad Harbaugh of Garber, Iowa is charged in Iowa District Court of Clayton County with domestic assault and operating while intoxicated. Clayton County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded at about 11:05 p.m. on March 20th to a residence in rural Clayton County after receiving a report of an intoxicated man tipping cars over with a skid loader. Reports say that Harbaugh shoved his wife and assaulted his son, then flipped over the son’s vehicle as retribution for the son defending his mother. Deputies reported that Harbaugh smelled of alcohol and appeared intoxicated. Harbaugh admitted using his skid loader to flip over his son’s vehicle in the driveway after consuming at least a 12-pack of beer. Harbaugh refused to take field sobriety tests. A breath test taken more than two hours after the incident showed his blood alcohol content measured 0.155%, nearly twice the legal driving limit of 0.08%.
