One person was injured Monday when a vehicle crashed into a tree in Lafayette County. According to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department, 32 year old Heather Ahrens of Charlotte, Iowa, was taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Reports say that Ahrens was driving south on County Highway U in Seymour Township at about 5:30 a.m. Monday when she failed to negotiate a curve. Her vehicle entered a ditch and struck a tree. Ahrens was cited with failure to maintain control of her vehicle.
