Almost one-and-a-half million dollars is coming to the city of Prairie du Chien for improvements in the community’s North Gateway Business Park. According to a press release, federal funds from the US Economic Development Administration will help storm-water infrastructure. The $1.4-million dollar grant, with $360-thousand dollars in local funds, is expected to create at least 50 jobs, retain 240 jobs, plus generate over $3-million dollars in private investment. The plan is to expand the North Gateway Business Park to make flood-resistant building sites. Officials say the work, within an opportunity zone, will attract new investments.
