A southwest Wisconsin man was taken to UW Hospital in Madison after being trapped in a grain bin for nearly two hours Monday morning. A release from Grant County officials says emergency crews were called around 8:20am to a farm on Grandview Road about two miles east of Stitzer. Upon arrival, emergency personnel found 71-year-old David Reiter stuck in a half-full grain bin. Reiter was buried up to his chest in the shelled corn. Multiple agencies responded to the scene – including technical rescue crews from Iowa and Lafayette County. Reiter was rescued from the grain bin around 10:20am. A release said Reiter was conscious and alert. He was taken to UW Hospital by Southwest Health EMS – however there is no information available about his condition.
