First impressions mean a lot.

And residents of Lancaster will be

glad to hear what the new city

administrator’s first impression is

of Lancaster.

That’s Steve Winger, who begins

working as Lancaster’s next city

administrator later this month.

Winger is coming from Center Point,

Iowa, where he’s been the city

administrator since 2008.

What else impressed Winger about

Lancaster ??? Memorial Park,

the swimming pool, the committment

to veterans through the Veterans

Memorial Project, and street projects

being done. The comment about

street projects probably comes from

his experience as an Interim Public

Works Director in Center Point.

Winger is a native of Dubuque,

a graduate of Hempstead High School

and a graduate of Loras College.

Winger’s ¬†first day on the job in

Lancaster will be July 15th.

He replaces Stephen Crane, who

resigned take a job in municipal

administration in Massachusetts.
