UWP Tornado Update

Two months have passed since a pair of tornadoes moved through Platteville, and recovery efforts could continue for another month on the UWP campus.

Christina Curras at the university says so far over 11,000 staff hours have gone into restoring the campus.

She says Engineering Hall and the residence halls damaged will be occupied by the end of this week – but additional work is still needed.

As far as the stadium, the turf will be replaced next week and it should be ready by September 8th – in time for UWP’s first home football game September 13th.

Curras added that glass and debris still litter the campus grounds, and that Memorial Park will remain off limits for now.
