United Way seeks to encourage education, reading in Dubuque area
Local United Way organizers launched a fundraising campaign Thursday that also has philanthropic goals in mind.
Joey Taylor, the Executive Director of the Dubuque United Way, said the campaign aims to raise $1.9-million so local agencies can provide a variety of services to tri-state area residents.
One effort in particular Taylor is excited for would put books into the hands of toddlers throughout the tri-states.
Other efforts include a reading assistance program for students at Sageville Elementary School.
