Two people have been seriously

injured after a two-vehicle crash on

Highway-18 Thursday night (3/27) between

Fennimore and Montfort.

Grant County authorities say 52-year-old

Kim Cleary of Highland and 61-year-old

Alan Tinderholt of Waukon, Iowa are in

the I C U at UW-Hospital in Madison.

Cleary was reportedly driving east and

Tinderholt was driving west when the

two-vehicles collided head-on. The road

was blocked for two-and-a-half hours

because of the crash.

Grant County authorities say their

initial investigation shows Tinderholt

fell asleep just before the crash, and that

Cleary admitted to drinking alcohol before

driving…and alcohol may be a contributing

factor. The crash remains under investigation

by the Grant County Sheriff’s Department

with help from the Wisconsin State Patrol.

Helping at the scene were Fennimore

Police, Fire and E M S, the Montfort E M S

and the Tri-State E M S, the State Patrol,

and UW-Madison Police. Doan’s Body Shop

and Collision Specialists also assisted.
