Two people are dead after a two-vehicle

accident Wednesday night at the intersection

of Stage Road and British Hollow Road, north

of Potosi.

Grant County authorities say 59-year-old

Joan Edge of rural Potosi was pronounced

dead at the scene of the crash, while 59-year-old

David Edge was pronounced dead at the

Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster

after being taken there by the Potosi E M S.

The preliminary investigation shows

21-year-old Joseph Stelpflug of Potosi was

driving north in his pick-up on Stage Road.

That’s when David Edge pulled onto

Stage Road to head south, and Stelpflug

tried to avoid the motorcycle that Edge

was driving. But a collision occured at

the intersection and both David and Joan Edge

were thrown off the motorcycle.

Authorities say neither was wearing a helmet

at the time of the crash.

Stelpflug wasn’t injured in the crash, which

remains under investigation. The Wisconsin

State Patrol responded, and will be doing a

reconstruction of the accident.

Also helping at the scene was the Potosi

Fire Department, Lancaster Police, and

Donnie’s Tire and Auto of Dickeyville.

hours to provide lighting and traffic control

at the crash scene, while the investigation

was completed.
