Two people are dead after a head-on collision
Tuesday afternoon in Jo Davies County.
Jo Davies County authorities say 71-year-old
Bob Haug of Elizabeth and 80-year-old
Richard Kirstein of Galena died at Midwest
Medical Center in Galena. The two men had been
taken there after the accident, for treatment of
injuries they sustained in the crash.
Also injured in the crash was 82-year-old
Clyde Laughlin of Galena. He was a passenger
Kirstein’s vehicle. Laughlin was also treated
at Midwest Medical Center.
Authorities say Haug was driving west on
Highway-20 near West Glen Hollow Road,
just before 1:00 pm Tuesday. That’s when
Haug’s vehicle crossed the center line and
collided head-on with Kirstein’s.
The crash remains under investigation.
