TEXTING DRIVER CAUSES CRASH ON MONDAY

Grant County authorities say a

man who was texting while he

was driving caused a major crash

on Highway-151 south of Platteville

yesterday (Monday) morning, that

resulted  in liquid manure being

spilled all over the highway.

Grant County Sheriff Nate Dreckman

says 37-year-old Matthew Bruhn

of Jefferson was driving south on

Highway-151 at around 11:30 am.

Dreckman says Bruhn had been

texting while he was driving and

talking on his cell phone, when

his vehicle hit the back of a

tractor that was pulling a trailer

full of liquid manure. The tractor

was being operated by Matthew Miller

of Platteville.

The car Bruhn was driving…a brand

new Ford Mustang convertible that

he had rented from Avis…received

severe front end damage.

Authorities say Bruhn is uninjured

and because he was wearing his

seatbelt at the time of the crash,

it most likely saved his life.

Miller told investigating officers

he was shook-up, but he refused

medical treatment.

Platteville Fire Department helped

at the crash scene to control

traffic on Highway-151, and helped

to reduce the risk of other crashes

on the road at that time.
