SW TECH GETS $900,000 GRANT [AUDIO]

Worker training is the reason Southwest Tech in Fennimore has received a $900,000 grant from the State of Wisconsin.

Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch was in Fennimore Thursday to make the grant presentation. The focus is to get more workers in the areas of health care and manufacturing.

The goal is to help the school train 78 additional workers in those high demand areas. The Department of Workforce Development will administer the grants, which will add capacity to 100 programs at all 16 technical  colleges in the state. It’ll accommodate just over 49-hundred students in training programs.
