Six vehicles including a police car

sustained minor damages after an

unmanned horse and buggy struck them

in Darlington on Wednesday morning.

Authorities say an officer noticed a

horse and buggy going north on Galena Street

toward downtown Darlington around 10-thirty

Wednesday morning.

Officers captured the horse in a parking lot

just off of Main Street, after it

collided with five vehicles and an

officer’s patrol car.

The buggy overturned as a result

of the collision, spilling gasoline

and paint which were inside.

Darlington Police say the horse owned

by Elam S. Allgyer of Darlington

was tied up south of the incident scene

when it was spooked by something

which caused it to free itself and escape.

No people or the horse itself were

injured in the incident.
