A man from Bloomington is facing a felony
robbery charge in Dubuque County District
Court, after trying to rob a convenience
store in Dubuque at gunpoint.
Thirty-five-year-old (35) Chad K. Reuter
appeared in court on Wednesday. He remains
in custody in the Dubuque County Jail
on cash bond of $50,000. A preliminary
hearing has been scheduled for next Friday.
Police say Reuter entered a convenience
store on East 16th Street Sunday morning
and demanded money from the clerks.
He reportedly pulled out a black handgun
when demanding the money.
Through surveillance and traffic cameras
in the area, police were able to get the license
plate number off of Reuter’s vehicle.
After being picked-up by a Grant County
Sheriff’s Deputy on Monday, Reuter was
interviewed by police. Police also
executed a search warrant on his car
and residence. That’s where they found
a red sweatshirt, a bandana, and a black
B-B gun. Police say the clothes matched
those worn by the robber at the time
of the hold-up, and the gun matched
the one used in the robbery.
