The Platteville Area Chamber of Commerce

has changed its’ name.

Chamber of Commerce Executive

Director Kathy Kopp says the lead

business organization in Grant County’s

largest city, is now known as the

Platteville Regional Chamber of

Commerce. Kopp says the name

change comes from a strategic

planning process.

Kopp says it also acknowledges

the wide membership the chamber

has in the region, not only throughout

southwest Wisconsin but also in Iowa

and Illinois.

Kopp says the Platteville Regional

Chamber of Commerce  hopes to

utilize the resources from its’ wider

membership, for a greater benefit

to the whole area.

She also says the chamber office

being the official Welcome Center

for southwest Wisconsin has

opened the door to the regional

positioning. Eleven-thousand people

stop at the Welcome Center every

year, as they travel through the

area. By the way, the name change is

effective immediately.
