Platteville School Budget, Annual Meeting

The Platteville School District is estimating a slight decrease in its budget for this coming school year, compared to expenses this past year.

The district spent just under $16.1 million in actual expenses during the 2013–2014 school year. For the 2014–2015 school year, Platteville is projecting about $15,000 less in expenses.

Despite the reduced budget, the district is estimating a mill rate of 11.63, up 0.25 from this past year. The figures are based on a steady enrollment and steady property values in Platteville compared to last year.

The district is also projecting about 48% in equalized state aid, a half-percent increase from the 2013–2014 school year. Other variables effecting the budget – like the September pupil count and October property value – will be known this fall.

The Platteville school district will present the figures at the Annual Meeting and Budget Hearing on August 25th – held this year at the OE Gray Building.
