The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources will be holding an information meeting next  Tuesday (7/8)  to talk with woodland owners in Grant and Iowa Counties, who have property that was affected by this week’s tornadoes.

About 600-acres of woods in Grant County between Fennimore and Montfort saw damage, with another 3,000 acres damaged north of Dodgeville and extending from Blackhawk Lake to County K in Iowa County.  The DNR is encouraging affected landowners to call a DNR forester or a private consulting  forester,  before accepting or signing any agreement with a contractor for clean-up of downed trees.

The informational meeting for woodland owners will be held on Tuesday night July 8th at 7:00 pm at the Dodgeville Service Center.   DNR foresters will give a short presentation, provide handout materials, answer questions, and refer landowners to the appropriate professional help about damaged woodlots.
