MARK HIRSCH INTERVIEW/”THAT TREE”

Photographer Mark Hirsch has

given to us so many stories about

the Tri-States with his camera over

the years. First as a photo-journalist

with the Dubuque Telegraph Herald

he was able to present images of

daily life in a loal newpaper.

Today, Mark continues to be

a photo-journalist, but also an artist.

He brings us the images, the lines,

angles, shadows and little things

that help us to see more than just

a photograph.  Mark’s talents are

on display with “That Tree,” a

photo-essay about a 200-year old

Burr Oak Tree in a Grant County

cornfield that’s received national

attention and has become an

inspiration to many.

WGLR’s Doug Wagen talked with

Mark about “That Tree,” and the

Pop-up Art Gallery that will be

on Main Street in Platteville this

Saturday as part of Small Business

Saturday.
