The Lancaster School Board has recently
accepted retirement requests from four
teachers in the district.
The Board has learned that 2nd Grade teacher
Kathy Schink, 1st Grade teachers Becky Yager
and Michelle Strohbush, and High School
Industrial Arts teacher Dennis Schmidt, will
all be retiring at the end of the school year.
In addition, long-time Middle School Head
Secretary Carol Caley is also retiring.
She’s held that position for 30-years.
Combined with the other retirements, the
Lancaster Schools will lose just over 150-years
of experience in education with those
retirements.

The Lancaster School Board has also approved
another two-year agreement with the
Platteville Schools, for the cooperative
boy’s high school swimming team.
It covers the 2013-2014 and the 2014-2015
school years. This year there were 33 members
on the team, with nine of them from
Lancaster. Next year it’s anticipated there will
27 student-athletes out for boy’s swimming,
with seven from Lancaster.
District Administrator Rob Wagner says
overall, the co-op athletic programs for
swimming, gymnastics and soccer cost the
Lancaster Schools just under $15,000 a year.
All are co-ops with the Platteville Schools.
