The Lancaster School Board has decided
to cut back on the number of bus routes
its’ currently operating.
District Administrator Rob Wagner says
the district will consolidate four routes
into three, mainly because of the lack of
students on the routes. The route being
eliminated serves primarily the west side
of the school district. It was averaging
between 9-to-16 students per trip. Wagner
says consolidating the routes would add
about 7-to-12 minutes to the bus ride for
students affected. Estimated cost savings
is around $7,500. It’s hoped the change
will begin next week.
In other action, the Lancaster School Board
has accepted the resignation of Brett Rollins
as the Middle School Track Coach…and the
resignation/retirement of 2nd Grade Teacher
Mary Melcher-Smith. Smith has worked just
over 30-years for the Lancaster Schools.
She’ll be retiring January 1st.
