LANCASTER POLICE ASK FOR CURFEW

The City of Lancaster has a

problem. Juveniles out after

hours and getting in trouble

with the law. It’s been such

a problem this Summer,

that Police Chief Steve Zabel

has asked the Common Council

to consider adopting a curfew

ordinance for residents under

the age of 18.

Sergeant Deb Reukauf is with

the Lancaster Police Department.

Sergeant Reukauf says the

crimes juveniles have been

committing show a blatant

disregard for the property

of others.

Police Chief Zabel has asked

the Common Council to consider

adopting a curfew for residents

under the age of 18. It would

be from 11:00 pm until 5:00 am

on weekdays, and 12-midnight

until 5:00 am on weekends.

There would be exemptions

for teens who would have to

work or travel.

—-dash—-

Sergeant Reukauf says it would

give police a tool to get juveniles

off the streets.
