The Lancaster Fire Department will be getting

a new pumper truck this year.

The Lancaster City Council has approved

the purchase of a 2013 Pierce Impel Pumper,

based on the recommendation of the city’s

Joint Fire Committee. It’ll be purchased from

Reliant Fire Apparatus from Cedarburg and

will cost just over $600,000. The truck

actually costs a little over $580,000, with an

additional $40,000 to give it the necessary

fire equipment.

It’ll ┬ábe paid for by applying existing truck

funds toward the purchase, while the

remaining $400,000 will be borrowed.

That was recommended by the committee.

It should be delivered six-months after

it’s ordered.
