Funding has been approved for the final design for fixing the runway at the Lancaster Municipal Airport. Just under $150,000 has been allocated for the design work. The majority of the money comes from the Federal Government ($138,000).

The runway at the airport is considered to be in poor condition. At a recent Lancaster Common Council meeting, City Administrator Steve Winger told the council that state officials consider the runway to be one of the worst in the State of Wisconsin.

Both the city and the state will contribute just over $5,200 to the design phase. The project should be done by next Fall.
