A man from Waunakee has suffered

non-life threatening injuries after he

hit a pick-up truck with his snowmobile

on Saturday afternoon in eastern

Lafayette County. Authorities say

68-year-old Dale Mayer was heading

north on the Cheese Country Trail on

his SkiDoo snowmobile. That’s when he

came up to the intersection with Riverside

Road, but didn’t stop for a pick-up being

driven by Joseph Ubersox of Shullsburg.

Mayer hit the side of the truck and was

thrown off the snowmobile.

Helping at the scene was Gratiot First

Responders, firefighters from Gratiot,

and the Rural Medical Ambulance.

And a man from Montfort has escaped

injury after a one-vehicle crash in the

Town of Belmont early Sunday.

Lafayette County authorities say 20-year-old

Jakub Spurley was driving east on

County-G, when he lost control of his

vehicle on the slippery road. The vehicle

received severe damage and had to be

towed from the scene.
