KRUGER LINKED TO ROBBERY/BATTERY/KIDNAPPING & VEHICLE THEFT

A man who Madison authorities wanted

on  a charge of attempted homicide is in

custody after assaulting a man, stealing

guns, kidnapping a man, stealing a truck

and trailer and then leading police on

a chase back into Dane County.

Grant County authorities say James Kruger

was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon

after he crashed a stolen vehicle on

Highway-18-151 near Blue Mounds.

It all started earlier today (in the day) when

Kruger went to a home in the Village of

Cassville and assaulted a man, and then

stole several guns from the residence.

Kruger left the home, and several hours

later kidnapped a man from a home

outside of Cassville. He took the man’s

vehicle and cattle trailer, along with

taking the man hostage. The trailer

was later unhooked along a back road,

and the man was released unharmed

in the City of Dodgeville. After apparently

stealing another vehicle in Hollandale

in Iowa County, Kruger was arrested

when stop sticks caused the vehicle to

crash on Highway 18-151 in Dane County.

The names of the victims aren’t being released

at this time. Charges are pending.

Helping Grant County authorities in

their pursuit of Kruger was the Wisconsin

State Patrol, and the State Patrol’s Air

Unit, Platteville Police, Cassville Police,

Fennimore Police, and Lancaster Police.
