KRUGER BEING HELD BY FED AUTHORITIES

The man accused of a multi-county

crime spree in southern Wisconsin

last September was scheduled to

make an appearance on Monday (5/5)

in Grant County Court.

That didn’t happen, as 36-year-old

James Kruger is now in the custody

of Federal authorities in Chicago.

Kruger is facing possible Federal

charges related to the incidents.

Grant County District Attorney

Lisa Riniker says she found out

from Kruger’s defense attorney

just prior to Kruger’s scheduled

appearance, that the defendant

wouldn’t be appearing in person,

by telephone or video.

Riniker told the court that Grant

County will have to wait until

Federal authorities have completed

their evaluation. Kruger’s next

court date in Grant County Court

has been set, but not until August 18th.

As you know, he’s charged in

connection with a high speed chase,

battery, armed robbery and taking

a man hostage, along with other

charges.
