Irish Hooley Saturday Events moved to Dubuque 5 Flags Center
10th Annual Irish Hooley – Saturday’s Events will be moved indoors to Five Flags Center
Due to the threat of rain over the next 36 hours, the Saturday portion of the Irish Hooley will be moved indoors to Five Flags Center. Friday’s concert at the Mississippi Moon Bar will go on as scheduled.
There will be no change to the Friday evening’s “Hooley Unplugged” show, 6:30 – 10 p.m. at the Mississippi Moon Bar.
Board members of the Irish Hooley were forced to make a decision to move the Saturday portion 10th Annual Irish Hooley indoors to Five Flags Center in downtown Dubuque. Committee member Tim Althaus said “We had to make the call to move indoors 24 hours in advance, trading the beauty of the Alliant Amphitheater with the threat of strong thunderstorms, for the air conditioned comfort of Five Flags Center.“
Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Saturday morning at Five Flags Center featuring the Opening Ceremony at Noon with Dubuque Fire Pipe & Drums. “We feel fans of live music, especially the terrific Celtic lineup we have this year, will thoroughly enjoy the show and come down to Five Flags Center to participate in the fun and have an ice cold beverage. There will be great Craic as they say in Ireland, or more simply put, great times with friends! It’s our 10th year for the Hooley, and we feel we have the strongest Celtic music lineup ever with five world class bands performing.” Althaus added.
