GRANT CO. BOARD APPROVES LEGAL SERVICES CONTRACT

The Grant County Board of Supervisors has approved a legal

services contact with Wood Law Firm L L C, and Attorney

Ben Wood of Fennimore. The contract calls for Wood to serve

as the County Corporation Counsel at the cost of $6,600 a

month to the county. He’ll also prosecute child support cases

at a cost of $5,600 a month to the county. Meanwhile, Wood

will lease a room in the county courthouse at the cost of $500

per month. The legal services contract will have a fiscal impact

to the county of just under $100,000 per year.  Wood takes

over for Todd Infield who passed away in March. Infield had

served as the County Corporation Counsel since 2011.
