The Fennimore Common Council has approved

a contract with the union that represents police

officers with the city’s police department.

It covers one police sergeant and three officers,

and is retroactive to January 1st.

The four members of the police department will

be getting a 37-cent per hour pay hike.

Fennimore City Clerk Margaret Sprague says

there are also some language changes in the

areas of pension, health insurance and sick

leave.

Under the previous contract, officers paid

one-half of the employee share of the

contribution toward their pension.

The new contract says officers will now cover

the full employee pension contribution.

And under the previous contract, officers

paid 7% of the cost of their health insurance

premium. The new contract says the four

members of the Fennimore Police Department

will pay 7.5% of that premium cost. The city

pays the remaining 92.5%
