Crawford County Probes Possible Abduction
Law enforcement groups in Crawford County are investigating after a 16-year-old girl went missing Monday afternoon and returned early Tuesday.
A statement from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department said the teen went missing in Bridgeport Township after going for a run at about 4 PM Monday.
The girl, who was not named in the statement, did not arrive at her destination, and she was reported missing to the sheriff’s department at about 9:30 PM.
The sheriff’s department reported that it issued an Amber Alert and received assistance from the FBI, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation and Prairie du Chien police.
The statement said the girl returned home safely on foot at about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The sheriff’s department still is investigating the matter.
