Shalom Center offers Franciscan Pilgrimage in Italy
Fr. Tom Hartl OFM will lead a Franciscan Pilgrimage to Italy beginning September 28 and running through October 9, 2014.
The group will fly from Chicago to New York City and arrive at Flumicino Airport in Rome. From there they will leave for Assisi to visit Francis of Assisi and Clare of Assisi’s places of San Damiano, Basilica of St. Francis, the Portizuncola, the caves where Francis prayed in, La Verna, Basilica of St. Clare, Greccio and other places where Francis and Clare lived. As part of this religious expedition, the group will celebrate Mass daily at one of the sites. On day seven, the group will return to Rome to visit the Vatican, having a group private audience with the pope and tour Rome. On October 9, the group will depart for the USA.

A deposit of $500.00 per person is due with each completed reservation; the balance is due no less than 70 days before departure and is acceptable by cash or check only. Credit cards are not acceptable for any portion of the payment.
University of Dubuque ROTC 5k run/walk For the Troops
The city of East Dubuque is hosting this run/walk for the troops to help raise money for the University of Dubuque ROTC program, so the ROTC program can send 16 Army Cadets to White Sand New Mexico to participate in the 25th Annual Baatan Death March(which is a 26.2 mile march with 35lb ruck sack on your back)
When: 01-MARCH-2014 (Saturday) registration begins at 8am with the race begining at 10am
Where: East Dubuque grade school on HWY 35
$15.00 fee per runner/walker
$10.00 Tshirts on sale
Bake sale and refreshments will also be available.
