Charity Fashion Show
The University of Dubuque’s Office of Multicultural Student Engagement and the Black Student Union will sponsor a Charity Fashion Show on Saturday, March 8, at 7:00 p.m. The event will take place in Heritage Center’s Babka Black Box Theatre. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased at the Heritage Center Farber Box Office by calling 563.585.SHOW or online at dbq.edu/heritagecenter.
The theme of this year’s show is Flavor of the Caribbean
Proceeds from the event will go towards the UD student Service trip to Jamaica as well as Jamaica Jampact Inc., a non-profit organization that aims to influence and improve socio-economic conditions which affect Jamaica and the Jamaican Diaspora by (1) developing social welfare programs, with particular focus on educational initiatives targeting youth, (2) facilitating research, stimulating constructive dialogue, and raising public awareness on topical issues; and (3) providing opportunities and resources to grow and strengthen the network of young professionals, students, and friends of Jamaica. The organization does this – and more – through their Adopt-A-School Program, Tuition Assistance Program (TAP), and Think Tank Program.
