CHANGES MADE TO FARM EQUIPMENT PROPOSALS

If you think lawmakers and government

policy makers don’t listen at public meetings,

then this should change your mind.

After conducting a series of meetings

across Wisconsin to talk about issues

concerning large farm equipment on

state highways, changes have been

made to the proposed rules.

Wisconsin Department of Transportation

Secretary Mark Gottlieb was in southwest

Wisconsin last week, and mentioned the

changes.

The recommendations have now

been submitted to the Legislature for

consideration. Ag Secretary Ben Brancel

says the changes will allow farmers

to do their job, while recognizing the

need to public safety and the protection

of the state’s infrastructure.
