Milwaukee Bucks owner Herb Kohl

has announced that he’s sold the

team to an ownership group that

will keep the team in Milwaukee.

Kohl has agreed to sell the NBA

team to hedge-fund billionaires

Wesley Edens and Marc Lasry for

$550-million. The sale needs

approval of the NBA Board of

Governors. Reports say the new

owners plan to invest another

$100-million toward a new arena

in Milwaukee. The Bucks currently

play in the B-M-O Harris Bradley

Center. The building was built in

1988 and is one of the oldest active

NBA arenas.

Kohl will reportedly maintain an

ownership stake, and with donate

$100-million toward the construction

of a new arena.

A proposed enrollment multiplier

to determine what division private

schools in Wisconsin should

participate in for interscholastic

athletics, has been sent to a

committee for further discussion.

The multiplier was backed by schools

throughout southwest Wisconsin.

At the Wisconsin Interscholastic

Athletic Association’s annual meeting

Wednesday (4/16), schools voted 352-to-77

to create an ad-hoc committee to

study the pros and cons of the issue.

The committee would make its

recommendation by December 1st.

The issue would then go through the

committee process with the WIAA,

with the earliest possible adoption

of any recommendation in the Fall

of 2015.

—-dash—-

An enrollment multiplier of 1.65 was

proposed to determine which division

private schools should participate in

for interscholastic athletics. It’s after

several schools in the state backed a

petition for the multiplier, saying

private schools have won a

disproportionate number of state

championships since merging with

the WIAA in 2000.
