A 15-year-old girl is injured after the buggy she
was in, crossed the center line and hit a
semi-trailer in Lafayette County yesterday
(Sunday) afternoon. Authorities say 15-year-old
Katie Lapp has been treated for non-life
threatening injuries at Memorial Hospital of
Lafayette County at Darlington.
Lapp was a passenger in a buggy being driven by
17-year-old Stephen King of Darlington.
King told authorities that the horse pulling the
buggy went out of control, and had pulled the
rig into the trailer. King was treated at the
scene for minor injuries by the Rural Medical
Ambulance personnel. He refused medical
transport. The driver of the semi…58-year-old
Daniel Jones of Fennimore…wasn’t hurt.
The horse pulling the buggy ran away, while
the buggy has extensive damage.
Darlington Police and Fire also responded to the
scene. The accident happened on Highway-81
in the Town of Seymour.

Lafayette County authorities are investigating
a crash on County Highway-F in Fayette
Township, late Sunday night. Authorities say
a vehicle went out of control and hit a guardrail,
causing extensive damage. The driver then
left the scene. The Lafayette County Highway
Department cleared the damaged guardrail
off the highway. The accident is under
investigation.
