Authorities in Crawford County say they have recovered the body of an 18-year-old man from the Mississippi River. A report from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department says officials found the body on Monday afternoon during a dragging operation. The body is believed to be that of a man who was reported missing early Sunday near a boat landing north of Prairie du Chien. Investigators say the 18-year-old man from Waterloo (Iowa) likely drowned when trying to swim between the shore and his campsite. Authorities have not released the name of the victim. Crawford County officials say the case is still under investigation.
